At Kinetico, we love Herriman almost as much as we love soft water. Nestled against the majestic Oquirrh Mountains (why should the Wastach Range get all the attention?), Herriman is one of Utah’s loveliest, most picturesque spots. Drive through breathtaking Rose Canyon, hike any of Herriman’s abundant trails, or visit the Disney-authorized “Up” house, and you’ll see what we mean.

Herriman began in 1851 as a small community. It takes its name (but not its spelling) from Henry Harriman, one of its four founders. (The others, if you’re curious, were Thomas Jefferson Butterfield, John Jay Stocking, and Robert Cowan Petty.) Herriman was, in fact, the site of a fort, fittingly named Fort Herriman. Today all that remains of the fort is its entrance. The rest is a community garden, which, you have to admit, is a bit poetic. The settlement attained township in 1999 and was officially designed a fourth-class city in 2000. “Fourth class” is by no means a slight. After all, Herriman is plenty classy. It’s just that the State of Utah classifies cities by population, Herriman’s being roughly 58,000.

Of course, there’s a good deal more to Herriman than scenic splendor and cool theme-houses. Within its borders you’ll find shopping, dining, arts, and community activities. Even better, everything in Herriman comes with a personal touch. That’s one of the advantages of living in a smaller city. Whether you’re out shopping, dining, attending live musical theater, or participating in one of the city’s many local events, you’re likely to run into neighbors. In Herriman, “neighbors” is another word for “good friends.”

Despite its small population, Herriman is big on education. The city boasts eight public schools and a brand-new Salt Lake Community College campus. That’s quite the educational commitment for a city of its size. It speaks well for the city’s leadership and their vision.

Like most of Utah, Herriman has hard—VERY hard—water. For optimally soft water in Herriman, it takes an optimal water softener like the kind Kinetico makes. Kinetico water softeners are rugged, so they last longer, giving you many, many years of trouble-free soft water. Kinetico water softeners produce soft water using two-thirds less salt than other softeners, and they nearly never go out of adjustment, so you’ll have soft water ’round the clock, all day, every day.

No wonder Kinetico water softeners are so popular in Herriman. If your neighbor has great soft water, don’t be surprised if you learn that the reason is a Kinetico water softener.
